Product Description

On August 26, 1972, a television audience of one billion watched the opening ceremonies of the Munich Olympics. One by one, the teams from each participating country marched into Olympic stadium as the crowd cheered. The moment was emotional for every athlete. They had worked for years, perhaps for their entire lives, for a chance to compete in the Olympics. The opening of the games had a special significance for one team - the team from Israel. While the Israelis were enjoying a night on the town, ten Palestinians met at a restaurant in the Munich railway station. They were members of the terrorist group Black September. For two years, Black September had been committing acts of terrorism, such as planting bombs and killing leaders. Its goal was to focus the world's attention on the Arabs in Palestine.
