Achieve Science: Indigenous Contexts

Indigenous Contexts will assist teachers to develop lessons regarding the cross-curriculum priority - Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures - from the Australian Curriculum. Students develop their scientific understanding and inquiry skills as they learn how the Ngwaigi people are sharing their knowledge to conserve wetlands, describe modern applications of fire-stick farming in Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, study classification using the Arrente peoples' names for foods, and learn about Indigenous understanding of constellations and navigation.
