Product Description
Hurricanes form around low-pressure systems. These are areas where air pressure is lower than the pressure of the surrounding atmosphere. A low-pressure system develops when warm, moist air rises into the atmosphere. As the warm air rises, it cools, condenses into tiny droplets of water, and sometimes produces a thunderstorm. Occasionally, if several of these thunderstorms are near each other, they come together. This storm system may turn into a hurricane, or it may simple dissipate.Australian Curriculum:
