Cities have been redesigned and Ecolaw is enforced by insidious cartoon Pandas and their armies of nagging children. Global warming means natural disasters are common, each one watched by the human race wondering if this, finally, will be the Apocalypse.

Max Galleon makes blockbuster disaster films that give his audience the cathartic experience of global annihilation. But Max's own problems feel bigger than the end of the world. Convinced he has amnesia, he relies entirely on his electronic archive to take care of the daily work of memory, a personal history he is constantly editing until it begins to resemble one of his films: overblown, narcissistic, and best met with skepticism.

When sad eyed neurologist Dr Gabriel Stern proposes a way to connect Max with his comatose brother, Max sees, not just a key to the past, but the possibility of a beautiful future in which painful memories can be easily altered or erased. But Gabriel's interest in the Galleon brothers may well run deeper, connecting them all to a lonely barn on the outskirts of civilization, home to disbanded drug cult 'The Sleepers'.
