Ruth Hellera(1923-2004) began her career designing wrapping paper, cocktail napkins, greeting cards, and coloring books. Her first book,aChickens Aren't the Only Ones, about egg-laying animals, was published in 1981. It was so successful that the sequel, aAnimals Born Alive And Wella(1982), quickly followed. In 1983 and 1984, her third and fourth titles,aThe Reason for a FloweraandaPlants That Never Ever Bloomawere published. Heller's next collection of books became a five-volume series on parts of speech, followed by her highly successful coloring book series, Designs for Coloring.
