Silvano and Chiara are two teenagers driven from their homes by danger and cruelty. Silvano has been accused of a murder he did not commit and Chiara, penniless, has been abandoned by her family. Taking refuge in a neighbouring friary and convent, Silvano and Chiara meet and, as they learn to trust each other, confide how they have both been unfairly treated.
Then a frisly murder - followed by another and yet another - strikes fear into the close-knit community. Chiara and Silvano cling together within the terrifying spiral of death as they attempt to solve the bloody crimes before becoming victims - or suspects - themselves.
