Leo Lionni was a four-time Caldecott-winning children's book author whose books have delighted children and sold millions of copies over the past fifty years. He published Little Blue and Little Yellow in 1959, followed by numerous classics such as Swimmy, Fish is Fish, A Color of His Own, Alexander the Wind-Up Mouse, An Extraordinary Egg, and many more. He died at his home in Tuscany in 1999.
