Although you can't feel it, the weight of the air around us is constantly pressing down on Earth. This is called air pressure. It plays a key role in predicting weather: High pressure usually means cool, clear weather; low perssure can bring clouds, rain, even hurricanes. Meteorologists, scientists who study weather, use an instrument called a barometer to measure air pressure. Build a barometer of your own and start measuring weather the way the professionals do.
