Yulia Yakovleva Horst has worked for many years as a columnist and an editor in leading Russian newspapers and magazines. She writes in both Russian and Norwegian. Her first children's book, Halens Historie, written in Norwegian and published under her Norwegian name, received the Bologna Ragazzi Award 2014 in the Opera Prima category. The Raven's Children is her first children novel in Russian, and her first book to be translated and published in English. She is currently studying for an MA in children's illustration in the UK.
