Each morning, as the sun rises over Bloomville, a trumpet begins to play. The notes drift down to an alley where a little dog sleeps. A car horn honks. She's awake now. And she's off! Past Bertolt's Butcher Shop, past the diner with the questionable scraps, and down the block to the apartment building with the red door. So begins each day in the life of a small stray dog. Lucy can't count on much, but she can count on the girl behind the red door.
