This is the riotous coming-of-age tale of seven unique individuals, whose collective graft, energy and talent took them from the sweaty depths of the Hope and Anchor basement to the Top of the Pops studio.

Madness kicked off their 40th anniversary year on BBC1's New Year's Eve Concert (12m viewers), with further celebrations planned, including a UK tour, a new album and, most importantly, their first book, telling us the story of how it all began in 1970s Camden Town.
