Al and Owen travel back to the Dragon Blood Islands, now carrying the long-lost Dragon Blood Sabre and Scabbard of Invincibility. When they show them to Grandfather, he notices that the four black diamonds that once decorated the scabbard are gone. He tells the boys that whoever took these diamonds must still be alive as the gems are cursed and make their owner deathless.Meanwhile, Captain Gunner receives a message in a bottle asking for help. Princess Haree of Ruby Island and some of her people are being held captive by an evil pirate king named Razor Toe. Al, Owen and Gunner decide to investigate.When the boys finally rescue Princess Haree, she wants to reward them with treasure. The treasure, however, is now held by Razor Toe behind an evil idol that kills whoever looks at it. After a fierce battle, Al manages to work out how to get past the idol without being hurt, but on their way back to Captain Gunner s ship, The Dandylion, they are attacked by Blacktooth and Razor Toe once again.As Gunner shoots at Razor Toe, it becomes obvious that Razor Toe is deathless and wearing one of the black diamonds on his turban. Thankfully, Snakeboot saves the day by knocking the turban off Razor Toe s head, destroying the evil pirate king instantly. Princess Haree is Queen of Ruby Island once again, but Al and Owen soon find themselves fading away and returning home...
